Mr Shahid Khan

Mr Khan trained at Cambridge and Oxford University Medical schools and completed his Orthopaedic training in Bristol, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998. Extensive fellowship training both in the UK and USA has led to a practice that encompasses the surgical management of all neck and lower back pathology. He is one of only four UK surgeons recognised as a member of the Society of Lateral Access Surgery, in some situations able to treat lower back pain through a minimally invasive lateral approach.
Mr Andrew Clarke

Mr Clarke qualified in 1999 from the London Hospital. His orthopaedic surgical training was undertaken on the South West training programme in the UK. His Fellowship training in complex spinal surgery was undertaken at the University Of Wales Hospital in Cardiff and also in Hong Kong. He took up his consultancy at The Royal Devon and Exeter in 2010 where he is developing his clinical interest in paediatric and adult deformity correction.
Mr Henry Budd

Mr Henry Budd FRCS(Orth) is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Hospital. He qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2004 with overall Honours and completed Higher Surgical Training on the Cambridge Orthopaedic Program completing the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2013. Fellowships were completed at The Ipswich Hospital Spinal Unit, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the Schoen Klinik Munich with travelling fellowships to Hospital for Special Surgery, New York and University of California San Francisco. He was a Consultant Spinal Surgeon from 2015-2018 at The Ipswich Hospital Spinal Unit. Henry’s principle interest is the management of degenerative adult spine conditions.
Mr Mike Hutton

Mr Hutton studied medicine at London University and graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1995. Whilst at University he played top level rugby and continued this as a professional with Richmond Rugby Club, also gaining representative honours with Middlesex, England U21 and The Barbarians until injury in 1998.
He passed the membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2000. He trained in Orthopaedic surgery in Cambridge on the East Anglian training programme between 2000 and 2005.
After successfully completing his final orthopaedic fellowship examinations, Mr Hutton moved to Auckland, New Zealand, to work at the Adidas Sports Medicine Institute looking after the national sports teams.
He returned to the UK in 2006. He was appointed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital Devon in April 2007.
Mr Oliver Stokes

Mr Stokes trained at University College London Medical School, graduating in 2001. He completed his Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery higher surgical training in London.
Prior to his appointment as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust he undertook 3 spine fellowships including complex spine fellowships at the University of Hong Kong and at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Mr Michael Anderton

Mr Mike Anderton studied medicine at The University of Manchester Medical School (2001-2006). Following this, he completed the North West Deanery Trauma and Orthopaedic registrar program in 2017. Further specialist training was then obtained in Munich and Adelaide, before taking a spinal surgery consultant position at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (November 2018). His practice involves both adult and paediatric spinal surgery.
